Brightline federal court case to be renewed by Martin, Indian River counties

MARTIN COUNTY — Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to renew a federal court battle against Brightline passenger rail.

Martin County will join Indian River County in the fight, which would focus on alleged violations of the National Environmental Policy Act, County Attorney Sarah Woods said.

The county also will challenge the allocation of private-activity bonds to the Miami-to-Orlando railroad.

The legal work could cost up to $350,000, Woods said…
