Statement by CARE FL Chairman Brent Hanlon regarding USDOT’s Approval of $1.15 billion in PABs
Posted on December 22, 2017
Tallahassee, Fla— “We have always known that the only way this railroad would be built was through a government subsidy.
“This is the latest chapter in AAF’s attempt to subsidize the railroad with the award of $1.15 billion in Private Activity Bonds, which is a subset of the $1.75 billion in PABs which we previously defeated and which were later withdrawn by AAF in 2016.
“We intend to go back to court and address the illegalities of AAF’s proposal. The fight is far from over.”
