Dollars-and-cents arguments against Fort Pierce Brightline station

I find it hard to believe that officials are wanting a Brightline station in Fort Pierce.

The Aug. 13 poll asked: “Would you ride the Brightline if you could board a train in Fort Pierce?”

No surprise: With 3100 votes, 75 percent said “no,” 22 percent said “yes,” and 3 percent said, “I'm Not Sure.”

Unfortunately, I don't see what would draw people to stop in Fort Pierce considering that current downtown businesses lack drawing power, especially with no hotel in the immediate location of the train station.

Another question: Who is going to pay for and secure a Brightline station there?...
