Troy McDonald eyes Ed Fielding's Martin County Commission seat in 2018

MARTIN COUNTY — Five months after last year's county election, Stuart Vice Mayor Troy McDonald is the first candidate entering the 2018 County Commission race.

McDonald is seeking the District 2 seat held by Ed Fielding. Fielding, who was first elected in 2010, declined to comment Wednesday, including whether he would seek re-election.

In addition to Fielding, County Commissioner Sarah Heard also is up for re-election next year. She could not be reached for comment…
