Guest column: Time to regulate high-speed rail safety

Our offices receive constituent calls on a regular basis and, not surprisingly, many of those calls are from residents who are concerned about the negative affect the All Aboard Florida rail project could have on property values, quality of life and, most importantly, public safety.

Currently, no state laws or regulations are in place to govern high-speed rail safety, which is why we filed legislation this session to create the Florida High-Speed Passenger Rail Safety Act to fill that void…
