Business Briefs: Harris Corp. challenges contract award

Melbourne-based Harris Corp. filed paperwork on Monday challenging the award of a contact, which could go as high as $85 million, to replace the radio systems of the city of Memphis and Shelby County in Tennessee, according to the “Commercial Appeal” newspaper.
Chief Operations Officer Doug McGowen confirmed the city's receipt of the Harris challenge which puts in jeopardy the decision last week to award the contract to Motorola Solutions Inc. of Schaumberg, Illinois.
