Counties demand access to financial plan for All Aboard Florida expansion

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Residents against the expansion of All Aboard Florida are demanding details on the railroad's latest financing plan. Those financial plans include All Aboard's new request for nearly $2 billion in tax-free exempt bonds.

They're now going after separate, smaller allocations over two phases.

According to the TC Palm, a letter from Martin, Indian River Counties and other opponents demands clarification on whether the bonds would carry over to the new plan.

If the U.S. Department of Transportation approves their new financial strategy, lawsuits filed against All Aboard by the counties would no longer be valid. A decision is expected to be made on Wednesday.
