The TC Palm: Pedestrian killed by train early Wednesday in Hobe Sound

MARTIN COUNTY — A pedestrian was stuck and killed by a train about 6:05 a.m. today at the Osprey Street crossing near Hobe Sound.

The crossing is closed and the train is stopped about three-tenths of a mile north of that area. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, according to Martin County Fire Rescue.

Although the train is stopped, no intersections are closed, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Florida East Coast Railway Co. called 911 about the incident.
