Letter: Asking for serious traffic safety problems with train route

Mmmmm — let's see: increased traffic at a new Costco in Palm City, or an increase of 32 trains per day crossing through the heart of Stuart, Port Salerno, Jensen Beach, at high speed? That is a serious danger.

At least weekly you can read about a train accident somewhere. Many are with cars at crossings.

Do you think the occurrence of wrecks will decrease in the near future? Do you want to be in or near a train wreck at any of our many crossings?

You could add a train stop/station in Stuart with free coffee, pizza or beer, and it could never justify the wrong that is being proposed.

This is a serious threat to our safety and to our home values, boating industry, and peace. What must we do to stop this monster? Let's get together and send this train west.
