Letter: Rail bonds are struggling, a preview of the disaster to come
The All Aboard Florida bond situation is a big-picture view of the reality this railroad disaster will ultimately bring to the Treasure Coast. Their "junk bonds" are struggling amid smart investors who won't touch them, hence the approved delays are just to dress them up in a new costume.
Another question is why the U.S. Department of the Treasury is bending over backward to "help" them. More government overreach or another inside influence? This New York hedge fund couldn't care less what happens here, typically for them, it's all about the money!
Finally, AAF is all about moving freight across our beautiful countryside (some freight may be both dangerous and toxic). The passenger service to and from Miami/Orlando is nothing but an obvious ruse for people to overlook the mess this will bring fort with high-speed trains running through here every hour. Let's hope those local government officials keep the pressure on and put out this fire that will ultimately consume us.
